Miguel’s wines are courting plaudits and justly so, from all over the world as well as Spain and Adriana Ochoa, Navarras top enologist and winemaker, showing all the talents of her father, Javier Ochoa, combined with her own vision and genius. Catalunya week (incorporating San Jordi*) – 23rd to 29th April 2007
Legend has it that in the 3rd century AD, the King of Selene’s daughter was offered as a sacrifice to a dragon. St George rode in on his white charger, slew the dragon and thus rescued the fair maiden.  San Jordi is the patron saint of Catalunya (England’s Saint George). The legend here is that when San Jordi killed the dragon, he gave the maiden a red rose.  As a result, on 23rd April each year, it is traditional for men to give their partners a red rose and the lady in question corresponds by giving him a book.
Sponsored by wines from Torres & Jean Leon

Rioja Week (incorporating San Bernabe*) – 11th to 17th June 2007
The celebrations of San Bernabé, patron of the city of Logroño, are celebrated on 11 of June to remember the heroic defence of their city from the French in1521. During the festival there is an act of Historical remembrance, the representation of the "Entremés del sitio" and the placing of lights in balconies and doors. The procession on the day of San Bernabé is important as it is from there that the distribution of bread, fish and wine came.
Sponsored by wines from Dinistia Vivanco, Muga & Miguel Merino

Navarra Week (incorporating San Fermin*) – 6th to 14th July 2007
San Fermin is the Patron Saint of Navarra. The streets become flooded with cavalcades with charades of giants, charangas (music bands that move around town), and all of the restaurants and bars are open for the whole week. It is actually very old, and it had its roots on the cow herders when they moved the bulls to the Plaza to do bull fighting. And yet this is one of the most internationally celebrated festivities that we have in Spain, thanks to Ernest Hemingway.
Sponsored by wines from Bodegas Ochoa

Galicia Week – 23rd to 29th July 2007
Sponsored by wines from Crego y Monaguillo, Viña Costeira & Martin Codax

Extremadura Week (incorporating La Virgen de Guadalupe*) -  3rd to 9th September 2007
Each year a festival is held in honour of La Virgen de Guadalupe. The Virgin was named after the nearby Guadalupe River; Columbus named one of the first Indians he discovered Guadalupe.  He insisted that the first Indians to be converted to Christianity be baptized at the monastery in Guadalupe. The Virgin of Guadalupe was soon established as an inspirational figure for the entire Hispanic world.
