MIGUEL MERINO & OCHOA WINE TASTING DINNER - WED 1st JULY 2009  - At Lime Street - £39.95 per person
Our wine tasting dinner is being hosted by our good friend and renowned wine maker, Miguel Merino, Midas of wine. Miguel's wines court plaudits all over the world as well as in Spain.
Miguel Merino Bodega is one of the smallest and youngest wineries in Spain, their first vintage was 1994. Their wines are among the most prestigious in the country, and are exported to over 30 markets.
All the grapes come from very old vines planted in bush formation between 1931 and 1963 in Briones. The vineyards are located in slopes facing South and South-west with low-yielding clay and calcareous soils, at an altitude of 550m.
Almost all of the grapes are Tempranillo. They also work with a small vineyard planted with Graciano. The picking is done by hand, and every single bunch of grapes is placed on the sorting table, where they are inspected for quality and any which are not in a perfect state of ripeness or health are rejected.
Beatriz Ochoa from Bodegas Ochoa will be joining Miguel this evening and you will have the opportunity to taste Ochoa’s excellent Rose (Ochoa Lagrima) and their delicious Moscatel (Ochoa Moscato).

WINE TASTING EVENINGS 
The wine tasting will give our customers an opportunity to taste six different Riojas, which will be accompanied by a selection of complementary Tapas.
The cost is £16.00 per person.

TWINKLETRUST ANIMAL AID
Animal Aid is a small registered charity that is U.K. based. They are dedicated to helping feral or neglected cats in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. All work is voluntary. Their aim is to try to relieve the suffering of and ensure the well being of stray cats, specifically through the sterilisation of such animals.
The charity survives purely on donations from the public and corporate sponsorship. Barcelona Tapas Bar y Restaurante is proud to be among those companies offering sponsorship. All our restaurants have a Twinkle Trust collection box, any donations from our customers will be gratefully received by the charity.
